City Saddened by Loss of Former Police Chief

[Content Courtesy: Radio MoM:] Former City of Lebanon Chief of Police Sam Myers passed away unexpectedly Saturday May 23 at the age of 59. A lifelong resident of Lebanon, Sam was a 1984 graduate of Lebanon High School.

He went on to attend the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy graduating in 1989. Sam began his career serving Lebanon for 28 years starting out as a patrol officer and working his way up to Chief of Police, retiring in 2016.

Additionally, Sam was a founding member of the Boone County Special Response Team. He then served as an investigator for the Boone County Prosecutor’s Office for ten years.

Recently, Sam enjoyed working part-time at the Golf Club of Indiana. In his free time Sam spent over 30 years coaching various sports from little league to high school football.

Funeral Services are planned for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Lebanon Christian Church, in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Private family interment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon at a later date. Myers Mortuary in Lebanon has been entrusted with his care.
